Sutton Football Club

Our History

Sutton Juniors was formed in 1998 by Simon and Alison Town who were then joined by our current President, Mr Phil Naylor. Originally the Club had just one team at U7 and was called Sutton Rascals, but as the club grew we were renamed 'Sutton Juniors'.

Our Teams

Today we have 21 teams ranging from under 7 right up to adults.

Our teams are named:

We also have a development squad at under 5 & under 6, these are our...

'Little Rascals!'

In 2010 we became an FA Charter Standard Club which means we have met certain criteria.

In 2012 we started a girls team with the aid of a Football Foundation Grow The Game Grant. This is progressing at under 11 and we are now looking at developing a new under 8 girls team during the 2013/14 season.

Where we play

Our teams play across 4 venues around the Sutton-In-Craven area, these are...

Sutton Park - U7's, U8's & U9's

Glusburn School - U10's, U13's & U 14's

Malsis School - U11's & U12's

South Craven School - U15's, U16's & open Age (Adults)

We play in our local leagues which are Craven, Aire & Wharfe - Keybury - Dales Friendly - Mastab's Craven District.

The Club has achieved recent success in league and cup competitions at all ages with our current U14(A) being the most successful to date. They have won the league at U12 & U13, also winning the league cup in the same years and the Liam Daley Trophy at U12. They were also our first team to enter the West Riding County Cup and went all the way to the quarter finals. We have also had success at other age groups and you can see who did what on their team pages (when completed).

The Club has a Constitution and holds an AGM every year. We have a Core Management Committee to oversee the main duties of the Club and managers attend a meeting every month to ensure the Club runs efficiently. Without ALL these volunteers we would struggle to keep the Club going and therefore we are always on the lookout for new volunteers.
